Natural Wine Education at The Wythe
Natural Wine Education at The Wythe
Date: Tuesday, April 9
Time: 5pm- 6:30pm
Location: The Ides Bar located in The Wythe Hotel
About the workshop:
This workshop is ideal for both entry level participants looking to grow their knowledge of natural wines, and for those who are familiar with, and eager to expand their natural wine education.
Students will be fully immersed with French natural wine history, process, and philosophy, and will taste 8 iconic and rare natural wines from the Wythe's
diverse wine cellar. Students will also receive an information packet that highlights the wines, regions and maps discussed in class. In this workshop, we will discuss and taste wines from lesser known regions of France such as the Loire, Jura, Savoie and Ardèche. A light fare will also be served to compliment the wine.
Basile Al Mileik is a sommelier and the wine director for the Wythe Hotel. Born and raised in Paris, he has been living in NYC for 3 years. Bitten by the wine bug while working in restaurants and passionate about the natural wine movement, he is eager to pass on his knowledge and experience in an accessible way to all levels of wine students.
