Spring Flowers- An Earth Day Workshop w Deborah Stein 4/20/24
How can a flower become a whole world? Come celebrate Earth Day with us and we'll surround you with flowers and the beautiful handmade watercolors of LDBA to find out, surrounding ourselves with Spring flowers and plant life in order to look closely at the world of a flower. We’ll look closely at all kinds of Spring flowers: their colors, tones, forms, and outward expression as we play with water + color while learning technique and ways of looking closely. We’ll play pigment and color mixing and create fun unexpected palettes to find the colors and patterns you see, even draw with the petals themselves and other natural elements. We'll dig into form and the relationships between line, color and space. You’ll learn new secrets about drawing flowers in water and fun brushwork techniques to bring out the magic of your compositions. You’ll leave with pictures of single flowers and full bouquets, real and imagined. You’ll have learned to honor your own individual intuitive techniques and personal visions to create extraordinary instinctual watercolors of the beautiful Spring flowers of New Mexico.
No experience necessary and all materials provided-all levels welcome!
Feel free to bring the flower (or a picture of the flower!) of your dreams to model for you!
