Imagining Landscapes: Georgia’s Clouds and Rivers with Deborah Stein 6/29/24

Imagining Landscapes: Georgia’s Clouds and Rivers with Deborah Stein 6/29/24

$185.00

In this workshop we’ll explore the meditative aspects of landscape painting in watercolor using the gorgeous handmade colors of LDBA.

We’ll focus on minimal compositions so we can concentrate on the colors and layers of New Mexico skies and landforms, the shapes of clouds and the lines and curves of rivers and roads in a landscape.

We’ll take inspiration from Georgia O’Keefe’s watercolors and landscapes in “her New Mexico” and Deborah will help you lose inhibitions so you can trust your own instincts about what your images can be.

Come make a cloud diary, meander in the twists and turns of your brush, water and river, explore what the “weather" of a painting might be, and paint a landscape born from your imagination all while practicing new ways to make marks, and work through techniques such as layering, dry-brush and wet-on-wet technique.

All materials provided and all skill levels welcome!
