Folktale Salon & Visual Story Workshop 10/22

Folktale Salon & Visual Story Workshop 10/22

$175.00

Come discover the world of visual storytelling through the lens of folk and fairy tales. We'll focus on the histories and DNA of folktales from New Mexico and around the world and the telling and retelling, imagining and re-imagining of ancient tales as a way of allowing the stories that live inside us to emerge. We’ll listen to music, consider the definitions of folk art and use ancient stories as the seeds to imagine new ones.

Alongside the beautiful watercolors of LDBA, You will be encouraged to try mixing media to create dynamic visual narratives in color and black and white, in watercolor and ink, pencil and crayon. We’ll spend the day in conversation, playing with images and tell a few stories. For artists and storytellers new and old.
Come with a favorite folk or fairy tale and an open mind.
